The Drone

We were lucky enough to have a beekeeping event hosted in our hometown.  I took the boys and the highlight of the event for us was certainly drone petting.  The beekeepers gave each (willing) child a drone to hold and pet.  The drones were very gentle!

I loved that Ender was willing to hold a drone and he loved feeling it crawl all over his arm.  I felt that Atlas was still a little too young to hold the drone, as I was worried that he would crush it.  But he certainly enjoyed watching it crawl on big brother!

The Boy is a Bookworm

Each fall, our town celebrates its heritage with a weekend-long festival.  We’re new here, so this was our first year checking it out.

Because we live in a rural area surrounded by farmland, it made sense to bring barnyard animals downtown to join in the party and pen them up on the sidewalk.  Because why not, right?

Yes, I do believe that is a cow.

At some point, we told the kids we were going to go downtown to see some farm animals.  At that point, Ender insisted on bringing his very own guide, so as to properly identify any unkown species.

So here we are, downtown, surrounded by families and eager children reaching into experience first hand these barnyard animals.

And here’s our very own Ender, crouched on the sidewalk, trying to find a picture of each animal we come across.

Of course, the little guy was just happy to be around.
